Its a wonderful
time to be living. My life has shown me the live Big
Band sounds of The Count
Basie Orchestra and Duke Ellington, Elvis, live in concert during the
50's and 60's, then The Beatles in the 60's and 70's, and scores
of Rock & Roll
and Jazz shows in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. What will we have going
into
the next century? We feel quite sure there will be Jazz. Having been
in the
Jazz Concert Promotion Business for the past 25 years, and having seen
Jazz evolve from its Traditional forms into Jazz Fusion, Contemporary Jazz, Smooth
Jazz and the emergence of Acid Jazz, we have little doubt of the
staying power and importance of the ever-evolving Jazz idiom.
We look forward to the many more years of Jazz, and all
of the surprises that will come with them. As Jazz migrates from generation
to generation, we are excited to work with its new sounds, new artists,
and
ever more innovative Jazz Music. Michael Schivo Presents has
always
been on the cutting-edge of music, and will continue to do so for many more decades. Lets hope it never stops.
